Our partners
From 2006 the network of National Park partner companies was established. The partner network unites different industries. Leading companies in the region are gathered here, from direct farmers to inns and excursion providers to commercial enterprises and clubs. Partner companies are interested in working together (together instead of alone) and fully support the values of the national park.
In 2017, the national park partner companies and the partner companies of the neighboring “Nature and Geopark Steirische Eisenwurzen”</ a> merged into the network of Gesäuse partner companies. Since then, the Tourism Association Gesäuse has been on board as the licensor for the regional umbrella brand Gesäuse.
Gesäuse partners stand for regionality and sustainability and meet strict quality criteria. The partners define themselves through the topic of appreciation: appreciation for the region, nature conservation and people and their identity. The network thrives on the partners who feel a part of this network and who help shape life in the region on a day-to-day basis. They all share a common, positive idea for the future.

Since 2007, the Association of Austrian Nature Parks has awarded the title “Austrian Nature Park School” to schools within nature parks. The aim of the nature park schools is an adapted transfer of knowledge and insights for different age groups in the areas of quality of nature and cultural landscape protection work, awareness raising, circular economy “from the region for the region”, renewable energies and adventure and nature education. In the Styrian Eisenwurzen Nature Park, the primary schools in Altenmarkt, St.Gallen, Gams, Landl and Wildalpen as well as the middle school in Weißenbach/Enns bear this rating.
These schools are therefore in close cooperation with the Nature and Geopark. The students’ awareness of nature is encouraged and nature park ideas and environmental protection are taken into account in the curriculum.
